IM Switzerland 2011 – Analyzing Results

Race Conditions

This year’s IM Switzerland was pretty typical – an adjustment of 13:28 means that it was just a little bit faster than the course rating of 12:01 implies. However, there were a bit fewer pro athletes than normal – 17 as compared to the more typical 30+ athletes. In contrast, the start list for IM Germany looks pretty full, so WTC seems to succeed in steering pro athletes to fewer, better paid races.

He had to work quite hard for it on the run, where he battled with Mathias Hecht for quite some time. Mathias came in third after being overtaken by the fastest runner, Clemente Alonso.

Amy Marsh came in second (again improving her rating), while Erika Csomor surprisingly raced again (just one week after her great time in Austria) and came in third.
