Race Conditions
After last year’s race in Taiwan was pretty slow, this year was back to the normal “quick” conditions, especially on the bike (adjustment of +19 minutes).
Fredrik Crobeborg posted a new overall course record, his 8:03 was a big improvement over the 2013 time of 8:16 by Dylan McNeice. Fredrik was also under the old bike course record (4:26 by Jason Shortis), but Guy Crawford’s 4:13:27 was a few seconds quicker.
Female winner Verena Walter also posted a new bike course record, her 4:52 was the only sub-5 split of the day and an improvement on Britta Martin’s 2014 bike time of 4:54.
Male Race Results
Fredrik Croneborg didn’t have any of the fastest splits of the day, but he was the most consistent overall and won the race by eight minutes. Dougal Allan – usually the best biker in almost any field – had a great run to secure second place. Guy Crawford was leading the race in T2 and was a solid 3rd place finisher.

Female Race Results
German athlete Verena Walter won the race with a 16 minute margin by posting a new bike course record and following that up with a solid run. Lucie Reed (Zelenkova) lost too much time to Verena on the bike for her best splits on the swim and run to produce a better result than second place. Kathryn Haesner took the last spot on the podium.
