Race Conditions
Conditions in Mont Tremblant were similar to earlier years, the adjustment of 6:21 is in line with the course rating of 6:56. If anything, the bike was a little bit faster (the day started off cool) and the run a little bit slower than normal (conditions got a bit hot towards the end, but that probably affects age groupers more than the Pros).
Male Race Results
Jordan Rapp had very solid day – after a good swim he quickly took the lead on the bike (setting a new bike course record) and also posted the fastest run. The only thing he left up to discussion was weather he would take the August Kona slot that he now is safe for. He was followed by Justin Daerr who was the best runner in the close battle for places two to five with just six minutes between these at the finish. Paul Ambrose was the “comeback story” on the run, he struggled in the early parts but when it mattered the most (he needed third for Kona) he was able to deliver. Eric Limkemann was a solid fourth while local favorite Lionel Sanders struggled on the bike with a flat and a stuck chain, the ran solid for most of the day before probably shutting it down a bit to safe his legs for Kona.

Female Race Results
Mary Beth Ellis was as dominant in this race as she was in Switzerland. After posting a new bike course record, she had a demanding lead up to 30k on the run. While Beth Gerdes managed to run her down in Zürich, Liz Blatchford only came close in Mont Tremblant – in the end MBE won by less than a minute in front of Liz. Lisa Roberts finished third after the best run of the day and a new run course record, just a bit over three hours.
