UntitledImageCourse Conditions

Winner Alistair Brownlee didn’t quite match the 4:03 bike split of Boris Stein from three years ago, but he set a new overall course record (by over ten minutes) and also a run course record. The conditions were slightly slower this year than the record year 2019, mainly on the run.

Kona Qualifying

With two Kona Pro slots on the line, these will be offered to

  • Alistair Brownlee
    and
  • Pieter Heemeryck.

Collins Cup 2022 (Aug 20th) – Seedings

PTO Collins Cup Opening Ceremony 2022 DW 0014 2048x1365

Even with Collins Cup taking up most of time this weekend, here are seedings for the matches. Rather than looking at specific finishing times (which are tricky as it’s going to be on a different course and some athletes have very little data to work with), the table below has “winning odds” for each athlete in their match. This way you can get a good indication for how the Collins Cup is going to play out. Make sure to follow the race because it’s unlikely things are going to develop exactly as indicated below.

One athlete is missing in the official results: Svenja Thoes. Svenja was first across the line but later disqualified for “outside assistance”. She said she will issue a protest and I will update the results as needed. As she was already Kona qualified, this will not impact the Kona slots.

(*) Update Jan 2nd, 2023: The result of Svenja’s appeal is now in: Her DQ was overturned and she was re-instated as the winner of IM Ireland.
