Port of Tauranga (part of the Mount Festival of Multisport) is traditionally the first Professional race of the year. With the limited amount of travel, the complete Pro field was from New Zealand.
Course Conditions
The finishing times were super-quick this year: Not only were both winners under the old course records, but also second and third on the men’s side and second-place finisher of the female race. A lot of other athletes were also faster than expected, so fast course conditions likely played a big part in these fast times.
