Male Race Results
There were two big incidents in the men’s race:
- The three leading men on the bike (Hayden Wilde, Marten van Riel and Mathis Margirier) did an extra lap on the bike.
- The leading runner, Morgan Pearson, did one more lap on the run than most of his competitors. To me, it seems that he ran the correct eight laps and the others one too few. It was deemed to be a “technical issues with the lap counting board and time” and the times from the last known timing after lap 7 (instead of the planned eight laps) was used to determine the final result. The run times were therefore very quick, they were for roughly 15.9k instead of 18k.
