Kona Qualifying
As the European Championship for the MPRO, IM Germany offered 3 male slots. As Denis Chevrot and Paul Schuster were already qualified, these go to:
- Robert Wilkowecki,
- Clement Mignon,
and - Kristian Hogenhaug.
The females had their European Championship in Hamburg two weeks earlier and offered only one slot (and less prize money). Dani Bleymehl and Nikki Bartlett have punched their Kona tickets earlier this year, therefore the slot will be offered to
- Dimity-Lee Duke.
Official acceptance of the slots will be on Monday’s awards ceremony. A list of all Kona qualifiers can be found here.

Hi THorsten,
It’s been a while that I am following your website and first of all congratulations for the excellent job that has been performed so far.
If you don’t mind I would like to make a suggestion regarding some athletes that are not completing races and keep showing with some good predicted results in the upcoming races. Its clear to me that some athletes cannot perform anymore but the fact that they are giving up during the races are masking the actual seeding (Patrik Nilson for example).
Once again congratulation for the terrific job!
Best regards,
Hello Yuri,
thank you for your kind words!
This aspect of what to expect of an athlete is reflected in the column “Consistency” in the Seedings. For example, for Patrik it said “21% +2% -77% (20)” meaning that based on 20 Pro races, he has underperformed 77% of the time – unfortunately for him, last Sunday was another one of those results.
Cheers
Th
