Course Conditions
IM Lanzarote ist one of the slowest races on the calendar. Men’s winner Sam Laidlow set new bike and overall course records, pushing the bike to just under 4:30 and the overall close to 8 hours. The next three men were also faster than the old course record, indicating overall quick conditions compared to the last ten years. Patrick Lange set a new run course record by more than five minutes.
On the female side, Lucy Charles-Barclay improved her own 2017 swim course record by four seconds, then continued her race with just slightly quicker splits than last year and not putting Anne Haug’s 2024 course records in danger. (Still, she was the fastest female in all three legs and won by 27 minutes.)
Kona Qualifying
IM Lanzarote offered 3 Kona Pro slots each for the men and women. These will be offered to
- Patrick Lange, Jordi Montraveta Moya and Damien Le Mesnager (men)
and - Nina Derron, Nikita Paskiewicz and Rebecca Anderbury (women).
In addition, both winner Sam Laidlow and Lucy Charles-Barclay validated their AQ slots. The full list of qualifiers can be found here.
