Course Conditions
Once again, IM South Africa started with a shortened swim – this year it was lightning and a predicted storm that lead to a swim of about 700m. Th least time IM South Africa was able to have a full swim was in 2018. Hopefully the 2024 edition can finally deliver the next full-distance Ironman event.
Kona Qualifying
As a Regional Championship, IM South Africa offered four male and four female IM World Championship slots. These will go to:
- Leon Chevalier, Bradley Weiss, Mathias Petersen, and Rasmus Svenningsson for the men (Nice),
and - Laura Philipp, Fenella Langridge, Penny Slater, and Laura Zimmermann for the women (Kona).
Here’s the full list of qualifiers.
