Ironman Vitoria 2023 – Analyzing Results

VitoriaCourse Conditions

Compared to the 2019 race (the only other race with a female Pro category), conditions were slower by roughly four minutes. Nonetheless, winner Gurutze Frades set a new overall course record by about six minutes, improving the old mark set by Heather Jackson. This was mainly a result of her new run course record which was almost thirteen minutes quicker than Heather’s old run course record. Heather’s third course record, the bike leg, was also broken – Els Visser was two and a half minutes quicker.
