Ironman Switzerland (Thun) 2025 – Analyzing Results

IMThunCourse Conditions

This year, conditions in Thun were probably the fastest we have seen (other than the short first edition in 2021). We have also seen a full set of new male course records. Ruben Zepuntke improved on the swim record set by Daniela Ryf (!) in 2022 by more than three minutes, then Marius Bjerkeset set a new bike course record (beating Zepuntke’s time from 2023 by ten minutes), finally winner Leonard Arnold set new run and overall course records. His 2:36 marathon and 7:49 finish were quicker than Jan van Berkel’s times from 2023 (2:40 and 8:05).

Kona Qualifying

IM Switzerland was the first race that offered two Pro slots for Kona 2026. These will be offered to:

  • Leonard Arnold,
    and
  • Marius Bjerkeset.
