Ironman Switzerland 2019 – Analyzing Results

IMSUI_LogoCourse Conditions

The last edition of IM Switzerland on the Zürich course was slow all around: A non-wetsuit swim followed by some rain during the bike plus the “normal” slow run course didn’t allow any new course records.

Kona Qualifying

IM Switzerland has two male Kona Pro slots. These go to

  • Jan van Berkel
    and
  • Cyril Viennot.

Second-place finisher Sven Riederer declined his slot at the awards ceremony.

Ironman Vitoria 2019 – Results

NewImageCourse Conditions

Vitoria was a pretty quick course, an adjustment of 20:10 makes it about as fast as the races in Austria, Roth or Barcelona. Most of the “speed” comes from a fast bike course (adjustment of 18:28).

As it was the first “official” Ironman on this course, all the fastest legs are “new” course records (swim by Josh Amberger and Judith Corachan, bike, run and overall by the winners Heather Jackson and Eneko Llanos).

Kona Qualifying

IM Vitoria had two Kona Pro slots, one for the men and one for the women. Both winners of the race were already qualified, so these slots go to

  • Nina Derron
    and
  • Josh Amberger.

As always, the full list of qualified athletes can be found on the Kona 2019 page.
