Ironman Switzerland 2023 – Analyzing Results

IMThunCourse Conditions

Thun was the location of IM Switzerland for the first time in 2021, and that year the swim was short and the times not really eligible for course records. As 2022 was a female-Pro-only race, we now have the first set of “proper” men’s course records:

  • Swim: 51:58 by Andreas Salvisberg (the fastest swimmer, Andrew Horsfall-Turner, did not finish the race)
  • Bike: 4:17:19 by Ruben Zepuntke
  • Run: 2:40:48 by Jan van Berkel
  • Overall: 8:05:01 by Jan van Berkel

Nice Qualifying

IM Switzerland had two slots for the men’s World Championship in Nice. As winner Jan von Berkel was already qualified, these go to

  • Leonard Arnold
    and
  • Andrea Salvissberg.
