Ironman UK 2021 – Analyzing Results

IMUKLogoCourse Conditions

After some more course changes for this year’s race, it proved to be one of the slowest ever race in Bolton. At – 32 minutes it is comparable to what we’ve seen in the past at IM Wales. Even with the tough conditions, there was one new course record: Joe Skipper improved the run course record set by Aaron Farlow in 2011 – by exactly 2 seconds!

Kona Qualifying

IM UK offered two male and two female Kona Pro slots. As both Kat Matthews and Joe Skipper were already qualified, these slots are likely to be offered to:

  • Men: Sam Laidlow and Leon Chevalier
    and
  • Women: Nikki Bartlett and Chantal Cummings.

The final slot allocation and declines – if any – will be handled in the next few days. I will update this post when there are any changes.

The full list of Kona Pro Qualifiers can be found on the “Kona 2021” page.

Ironman Lanzarote 2021 – Analyzing Results

IMLanzaLogoKona Qualifying

IM Lanzarote offers 6 Kona Pro Qualifying slots. With only 10 female and more than 40 male starters, both of the 2 unassigned slots should go to the men. This means that the slots are probably going to be offered to:

  • Andi Boecherer, Boris Stein, Matt Trautman and Kristian Hogenhaug on the men’s side,
    and
  • Laura Siddall and Justine Mathieux on the female side. (Michelle Vesterby already secured her slot at IM Cozumel 2019.)

The final slot allocation and any declines will be handled in the next few days. I will update this post when there are any changes.

The full list of Kona Pro Qualifiers can be found on the “Kona 2021” page.
